Education

Computer Science Ph.D. at Kansas State University, GPA 3.86, college CS instructor, On Course method expert. I teach not only programming knowledge, but also the skills of getting a decent job in the IT arena. With many creative tutoring methods, I make learning a very fruitful and pleasing experience for students. Currently I have students from Foothill College, Las Positas College and local high schools. (See more descriptions in next section.)

Experience

Helping young people to be advanced in high tech is my vision. I use examples, stories and resemblances to let my students fully understand the concepts. The effectiveness of teaching can be easily doubled if we can properly mix the lecturing with other untraditional factors. For examples, I converted an ordinary classroom into a place for (1) programming competitions, (2) talk show (in which I was acting like a talk show host), (3) interviewing candidates (in which the students are the candidates), or (4) Kahoot game competition (in which the students are competing with one another using Kahoot game). My experiences include: 1. Computer Science lecturer in college ( Kansas State University, Las Positas College and Northwestern Polytechnic University). 2. Mentor in the areas of communication, proactive and positive thinking. 3. Manager of a few international IT companies.

Hobbies

I play chesses, tennis and video games, such as WII. When tutoring I tend to provide hints to my students and let them figure out the solutions by themselves. (Normally I divided a big problem into several sub-problems and asked them to solve the sub-problems one at a time. This is call Divide & Conquer technique, which is the most effective approach in software engineering.) Thus, initially the pace could be slower. However once the student handles the skills, (s)he will be able to solve all types of problems by herself/himself. Work myself out of the job is the goal.
